FLIGHT OF THE SPARROW Blog Tour

Don't you just love a book when it surprises you in a good way and leaves you with a lasting impression? So what is this book that had me happy...it is Flight of the Sparrow by Amy Belding Brown. I enjoy reading stories of Early America but the books I have read on this time period are few and far between. The author embraces this era and enriches her characters and the story with such life. It was like I was transported back in time as Mary.

I was experiencing everything she was. I could feel her pain when her daughter died in her arms and when she had to exchange her clothing for a buckskin dress. James was a intriguing character. I liked that Mary had a friend like him to share her journey and growth with as a strong woman. When Mary went back to "civilization", I was disappointed as I felt the story was the strongest when Mary was with the Native Americans.
