For all you mystery fans. Here is a new and exciting book add to your list to get. Due out 4/22/08 Faith's catering business has been slow with the downturn of the economy, so when her friend Patsy Avery proposes that she take over the café at Aleford's Ganley Art Museum, it seems like a not-to-be-missed opportunity. And Patsy has an ulterior motive—she discovers that the Romare Bearden piece she lent the museum has been switched with a fake and wants Faith to snoop around to find the culprit. Life at the museum doesn't stay calm for long and Faith is soon enmeshed in the Ganley's murky past and present as she struggles to make connections among apparently disparate items: the fake Bearden, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers, and a Jane Doe corpse that turns up as an unintended part of an art installation. The Red Leather Diary

Image
I have never read anything by this author but it sounds very intriguing. I will be checking this book out. Due out 4/8/08 Rescued from a Dumpster on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, a discarded diary brings to life the glamorous, forgotten world of an extraordinary young woman. For more than half a century, the red leather diary lay silent, languishing inside a steamer trunk, its worn cover crumbling into little flakes. When a cleaning sweep of a New York City apartment building brings this lost treasure to light, both the diary and its owner are given a second life. Recovered by Lily Koppel, a young writer working at the New York Times, the journal paints a vivid picture of 1930s New York—horseback riding in Central Park, summer excursions to the Catskills, and an obsession with a famous avant-garde actress. From 1929 to 1934, not a single day's entry is skipped. Opening the tarnished brass lock, Koppel embarks on a journey into the past, traveling to a New York in which women of

Brotherhood of Warriors

Check this book out 4/29/08 At the age of eighteen, Aaron Cohen left Beverly Hills to prove himself in the crucible of the armed forces. He was determined to be a part of Israel's most elite security cadre, akin to the American Green Berets and Navy SEALs. After fifteen months of grueling training designed to break down each individual man and to rebuild him as a warrior, Cohen was offered the only post a non-Israeli can hold in the special forces. In 1996 he joined a top-secret, highly controversial unit that dispatches operatives disguised as Arabs into the Palestinian-controlled West Bank to abduct terrorist leaders and bring them to Israel for interrogation and trial. Between 1996 and 1998, Aaron Cohen would learn Hebrew and Arabic; become an expert in urban counterterror warfare, the martial art of Krav Maga, and undercover operations; and participate in dozens of life-or-death missions. He would infiltrate a Hamas wedding to seize a wanted terrorist and pose as an American jo

It's Time To Get It On with Cheryl Dragon

Today I have a special treat to share with you all. Cheryl Dragon was nice enough to allow me to ask her some questions about her and her books. Here's a little bit of information about Cheryl Dragon. A lover of unusual things, Cheryl Dragon enjoys writing unique stories with sinfully hot erotic romance or suspenseful mainstream paranormals. Never at a loss for ideas, there are plenty of stories in her brain waiting to be written. Her two favorites book settings are Las Vegas and New Orleans...where anything can happen! Cheryl lives in the Chicagoland area with her deaf albino cat. By day she crunches & analyzes numbers as an Assistant Controller for a division of a large international conglomerate which leaves the creative juices free for her erotic romance and paranormal suspense novels. If she can wait him out now, he’ll only be in town a month and then he’s out of her life. It's a Chiller of A Time with Amanda Stevens

Image
I am so excited to have gotten the chance to interview one of my favorite authors..... Amanda Stevens. She has written many books for the Harlequin Intrigue line and has recently written some really great stand alone novels that include The Dollmaker and her most recent novel The Devil's Footprints. I have read The Dollmaker and am currently finishing up The Devil's Footprints and let me tell you these are two really good books. Amanda Stevens's website mentions that she considers storytelling a part of her heritage and I would have to agree. The way she writes is so memorizing she draws you right into her books. Read for yourself and I know you will agree with me. I want to thank you for taking the time to answer some questions. My pleasure! What’s something about you that we’d be surprised to learn? I’m the mother of twins. In fact, the day I learned I was having twins is the same day I sold my first book! I also love conspiracy theories, eighties music, and crop circ

IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME For Gabby Pearson, being dumped in public before the dessert course has to be the lowest of the low—especially when it’s the old, “It’s not you, it’s me” speech. Honestly, how about something original: “I have five minutes to live” (very possible); “It’s not you, it’s the voices in my head” (thanks for the warning); or “I am such a powerful sexual being I could put you into a coma with one kiss” (wishful thinking). Not that Gabby would ever know since Reed Larkin never bothered to take her to bed. Why does a girl bother (to shave)? The only thing left to do is offer the guy a goodbye-forever drink…on his head. IT’S ME WANTING YOU COMPLETELY… Damn. Reed did his job—he walked away from Gabby rather than drag her into his unstable life and danger. Now he’s wearing her full glass of wine instead of throwing her onto his sheets. It doesn’t help that the woman is smart as hell and could stop a man’s breath with that wide smile and those shapely curves. Gabby has it all

Excerpt – From Chapter Two 1883 – Pine Ridge Lumber Camp Someone had smuggled a woman into camp. Juniper Barns surveyed the growing circle of men as he tethered his horse outside the cabin serving as the Pine Ridge jailhouse. Only two things drew such a crowd. There wasn’t enough rooting and shouting going on for it to be a fight. Cursing beneath his breath, he started toward what could well turn into a riot. He didn’t get paid enough for this job. Hell, just like the rest of the camp, he hadn’t been paid in nearly two months. He needed to get down the mountain and check on John’s widow. His friend’s death was the most recent of fatalities in a lumber camp sliding downhill at an alarming pace. “Afternoon, Sheriff,” one of the men said as Juniper nudged his way past him and into a strum of murmuring voices. “What’s going on?” he asked, working through the cro

But when he learned his very own daughter had gone missing, agent Will Connor instructed his covert team, The Body Hunters, to stop at nothing to find the girl—and forced him to reunite with his “widow,” Maggie. Although Maggie’s anger was evident, so was the passion that had always existed between them. With the clock ticking, finding their daughter was top priority, but rekindling what he’d once shared with Maggie was critical to their future. Suddenly “till death do us part” had a whole new meaning, for nothing else would tear him away from his family a second time around. The Somnambulist

Image
Once the toast of good society in Victoria's England, the extraordinary conjurer Edward Moon no longer commands the respect or inspires the awe that he did in earlier times. Despite having previously unraveled more than sixty perplexing criminal puzzles (to the delight of a grateful London constabulary), he is considered something of an embarrassment these days. Still, each night without fail, he returns to the stage of his theatre to amaze his devoted, albeit dwindling audience with the same old astonishments—aided by his partner, the silent, hairless, hulking, surprisingly placid giant who, when stabbed, does not bleed . . . and who goes by but one appellation: The Somnambulist On a night of roiling mists and long shadows, in a corner of the city where only the most foolhardy will deign to tread, a rather disreputable actor meets his end in a most bizarre and terrible fashion. Baffled, the police turn once again in the direction of Edward Moon—who will always welcome such assign
